Design

Design is really a way of life. As an educator, I tell my students there are four essential traits for good designers (they also happen to be essential traits for improvisors!). They are 1) being open-minded, 2) curious, 3) a good listener, and 4) observant. These are pretty good traits to simply live a creative life. I have taught design for decades, as a college professor, an invited specialist, and in workshops. If you like buzz words, I am an expert in the process of design thinking, although I try to shy away from labels. Design thinking is a human-centered design process that is not new, although the label is considerably newer. Lately I have mostly been an educator in the realm of design, keeping most other pursuits away from “work”. I have, however, created my own projects as well as engaged in design consulting work from time to time. I have led many design thinking workshops and continue to do so. If this is of interest to you, don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Every workshop I engage in is tailored to the specific needs of the client.
