Improv has been a way of life for me since I first discovered it in college. Patricia Ryan (author of Improv Wisdom – go read this book!) was the mentor and teacher of The Stanford Improvisors, and from there I caught the bug. My first long form group, The Scene Shop, performed Shakespeare and live action radio, and I haven’t stopped since. I’ve performed both long and short form with numerous groups, and taught improvisational theater in colleges and short workshops since 1995. I performed and studied with Bay Area TheaterSports, in the 90s, and have studied with many great improvisers and teachers such as Keith Johnstone.
I continue to perform and teach (and study!) improvisational theater, and am also involved with the Applied Improvisation Network (AIN). AIN is a professional organization working to apply the principles of improv to all aspects of work, from education to business.
If you want to do a workshop for your organization, or want to introduce improv to your acting ensemble, I offer a variety of possibilities, tailored to your needs. Contact me and let’s play!
